LeVzi My trusty Win 7 system, still going strong after all these years, but I figure I need to make the change, Microsoft is being a **** about it, and it means a clean install of windows cos the upgrader just stops and won't work.

So I need to wipe and reinstall everything, but IS it worth it ?

Only thing I am really concerned about is Cubase 9.5 (going to 10 in the summer) running sweet on it.

Thoughts ? (Gonna be a long day doing all that ffs)
Samination Unless it installs some weird drivers it needs for the hardware keyboards, I doubt that there'll be any big problems. Personally, I've only had problems with Xbox drivers screwing up my PS4 controller after the Anniversary (10's first big update), but that was fixed fairly quickly.
Si Thompson Samination is still using Windows '95.
DJ_FunDaBounce I was very hesitant on moving onto windows 10 'til I was practically forced to. Been 2 years since then and I must say it's become my favorite version of windows. I'm still on cubase 7.5 but it's super stable.
Triquatra I am truely dreading having to switch to it in Jan 2020.

I don't have anything against the system but as always its a worry about what VSTs will work and won't, and then the ball ache of having to re-install everything.

The only good thing that will come out of it is that I plan to build a new system. Then when the new system is up and running dismantle the old system.

I'm really hoping that Microsoft offer Windows 10 as part of their Office 365 subscription, that way I don't have to 'buy' it.

Office 365 is awesome btw, 6TB of cloud storage and all the office programs for ?7.99 a month. Is spot on! I got it just for the cloud storage, but having legit copies of word/excell is quite a fresh breath of air, haha!

Not that they wern't legit before of course...

cough.

You don't have to buy it still, they still want people on it, and off Win 7 so they will let you register. If they don't , get in touch with them and create hell, I did this on live help trying to run the upgrade and avoid a clean install, and they said its not free , my exact words were something like , you gave it away now you wanna charge for it, you having a laugh.

They tried to help me, but said clean install is only way, and said my Win 7 key should register v10 . Im doing it today, so wish me luck.
LeVzi Well I am running Win 10 but have lost the use of the audio interface, according to focusrite , it is not compatible.

Firewire is the problem, and the fact focusrite are lazy and wont fix the issue.

Here's a list of Focusrite Windows 10 compatible products:

I myself have a Scarlett on Windows 10. Runs just fine.
LeVzi Yeah mines the original Saffire, which won't work, hell I cant even get the firewire adapter to work now, as VIA chipsets arent compatible with (well some) with windows 10. Even the legacy drivers dont work so it looks like im off to dv247 to get a new one.
