Hello :)
Right as some of you know silver launched the happyhardcore.com chat a while back, moderated by silver, myself, comet, and regular di.fm mods.
To access the chat click the "Chat" Link, on the toolbar above.
Couple of things, if you join, and noone replys, hang around for a bit, as this is an international chat, a lot of us are asleep while others are awake and such like, dont do the typical newbie entry "HI!!!!11111, Y IS NO 1 SPEKING???" then leave, we are alive, just hang around for a bit, as we dont all chat 24/7 ;)
Secondly, if you are some form of regular to the chat, your name may have made it onto the stats. which are kindly hosted by Rick Hunter from di.fm here ----> http://acm.cs.purdue.edu/jhelwig/hardcore/

The Rules Can Be Found...
This #hardcore chatroom on HappyHardcore.com and irc.di.fm is intended for all ages, and observes some simple rules:
- Please refrain from excessive use of profanity, this means no swearing.
- Please be civil.
- Please do not bring hate or intolerance into the chatroom. Harassment is not tolerated.
- Do not discuss mp3 filesharing or the recording (also "ripping") of internet radio. DigitallyImported.com is a fully licensed radio station and, as such, is legally required to actively discourage these activities.
- Do not spam other radio stations.
- Please minimize the use of bold and CAPS. Reserve them for the occasional friendly emphasis or excitement.
- Although HappyHardcore.com and DI Radio are international channels, the main language of the room is English so that everyone can understand each other. Please be polite to the other users and move non-English conversations to private messages.
- Avoid scripts that auto-send messages.
- Please do not ask for op (@) or voice (+). You will not receive either one.
- Ops Will Not Kick On Request, dont try and do there jobs for them.
Actions that result in an immediate kick:
- Posting of pornographic material.
- Spamming - displaying a link for deliberate advertising.
- Flooding.
- Not following the chatroom rules will at least get you a reprimand; at worst, kicked or removed from the chatroom. The Channel Operators are here to assist and make sure the chatroom is a fun and friendly place to visit. They are not guards, but they take their jobs seriously. In the event of unacceptable or disruptive behavior, you will be asked to leave the room.

Oh yeah, posting is sweet, but I think that the chat room takes a lots of waffle out of the forums.

But I see both environments as quiet different. Too much IRC, you loose track of the forums. Too much forums, you loose track of IRC.

right once installed start it up click contiune (u dont have to worry about registering just yet, come to think of it u dont need to register after the 30 days but its just nice to)
Connecting to an IRC server is the first step to chatting on IRC and is done through the Connect dialog, which pops up automatically when you first run mIRC.
Once you enter a few basic pieces of information about yourself, you can select an IRC Server from the servers list and then click on the Connect button. You'll know you've connected when the IRC server shows you it's Message Of The Day, which contains information about that server. At that point you'll be able to Join a channel to start chatting.

You can enter your real name here, however note that whatever you enter can be seen by other people on IRC. Most people usually enter a witty one-liner or comment.

You must enter a full email address
Nickname and Alternative
right now in stead of picking a channel out of there pop up list i give u u need to select the lil tree icon called servers (see screeny click below)

irc.di.fm
now press the add button
it will take u back to the lil window with the tab that says "connect to server" press that and it will bring up another box with that says "enter a channal name and click to join" in that box type in

then press join
u should now be in the chat room

I've been mistakenly BANNED, kicked and booted a few times :(
but on the good side, I've had very good moments like the CD Competition Wins. 7 TIMES IN A ROW can you believe it!

If you're at school or an office you might be behind a firewall or something. You want to make sure port 6667 isn't blocked or being blocked. |
