Actually, Facebook has created so you can find people you met in the past, but somehow you lost contact with... for example if you want to find your best friend in the kindergarden or whatever...
besides, most people in the contact list is people you know in real life...
you are right about some thing, it sucks for socializing, but it you are bored, it can be lots of fun. thats why it is so used, and why so many people waste hours and hours in it

Don't use myspace. Actually I never go to myspace. But if you look around online you'll find massive amounts of horror stories, with the on I described being where the page is actually a linked image that leads to malicious webpages and also some really f'd up stuff. |

Personally i have never used FaceBook and never will. I dont like sites that require registering and i dont like adding personal info on the net, so would be kinda pointless. MySpace on the other hand is just stupid*. I havent yet been linked to a singel page that would be safe for an epileptic person. I used to click on artists pages, but now just think their not worth the hassle.

When i wrote that 100% of Facebooks content required registrating, it has loosen a bit since but still is useless without registering. Compare to this site, where only posting and viewing members profiles are restricted for registered users only. |

He actually checks the site everyday just dosent always feel it necessary to post everyday.

Also a note on the freedom of speech that you call upon to justify yourself. That same freedom of speech that allows you to comment gives me the freedom to reply to your or anyone I feel like.
