I've noticed a problem with my mixer. Even when the cross fader is complety on one side sometimes it can be heard from the other speacker. I think its a loose connection coz when I slightly push it either goes of, crackles or goes really load. Has anyone else had this problem or do you know what I should do ?

Yeah it happens to all mixers, it's called a leaky crossfader, all mixer crossfaders die like this in the end, you need to replace your crossfader.

I will just get a better mixer, as this one is pants. I will get a set of technics 1210's one day, but I'm not sure what mixer to get. What would you recommend?

I recommend Vestax myself, I personally have two Vestax mixers and not had a problem, except for to replace a crossfader (same problem as you), but this happens on all mixers.

This is the result of normal "wear" for variable-resistor type crossfaders. The solution is to buy a new replaceable crossfader. Optical crossfaders rarely exhibit these types of symptoms because they do not rely on frictional contact between electrical surfaces.

Hi, since y'all talkin about crossfaders, does anyone know of any online mail order DJ equipment suppliers that sell crossfaders? Prefably in the UK.

I can get my crossfader replaced at a shop in my home town but they have to order it in which takes ages, plus they insist on fitting it themselves (which is lame cause they charge more), so if theres a decent place online to order one i can cut out the middle man and save some cash.

I always get my crossfaders at http://www.upstairsrecords.com. I'm not sure if they ship internationally, but they do have a wide variety of crossfaders from just about every major manufacturer on the market: Gemini, Rane, Numark, Vestax, American DJ, etc. I don't think they carry Citronic tho (since I think those are popular in Europe). Hopefully this helps. Good luck.
