first of all sup to everyone and to silver-kickass webpage. finally i can go somewhere were people are actually interested in the kind of music i like.
im pretty much a lamer and im trying to start djing. I'm gunna buy a vestax pro-sm3 (or somthing like that) mixer soon for 100. im figuring thats a good deal. Hopefully ill get some technics 1200s. i figure if im gettin some tables, im gettin the best. if anyone is sellin any tell me cuz im interested. Anyone around here from atlanta? i wanna here about some cool parties that aren't lame like the ones ive been to where. anyone know about some free software that mixes mp3s?

The key to mixing is to know your tunes, know them inside and out so when you are listening to two at the same time (mixing) you can hear the difference and mix them. Alot of DJ's start with CD's and MP3 mixing stuff which is okay if this is what you want to use for life. If you ever want to DJ big clubs and tour the world etc, you will not be doing it with MP3 and CD players...
If you start on MP3 players and CD's you will have to re-learn the mixing process when you move to turntables. If you are fine with that then no problem, I started on CD player way back and I wish I hadn't because it was kind of a waste of time and money because I had to re-purchase all my tracks on vinyl.
