What up people!
I'm kinda new into the dj scene, as I usually listen to metal and hard rock kinda stuff.
So far, I'm fondest of Paul Van Dyk's, Scott Brown and Fumyia Tanaka.
here was mah question:
if a person wants to start djing, what would you tell them, to help 'em start out? (what decks, mixers etca to use)

Buy some decent decks,amp,mixer etc.A few records,and get practicing!!

Make sure you get the best decks you can afford, then think about a mixer. You will outgrow bad decks very quickly and they are expensive to buy, so it makes sense to spend a little extra initially and save money in the long run.
Just dont expect to become as good as those DJ's you mentioned overnight, it'll take an insane amount of practice to get up to their level.

I've heard technics 1200 are good...

There's a brilliant book out just now called 'HOW TO DJ(properly)' it's by Frank Broughton & Bill Brewster. It tells you everything like what gear to buy, how to mix, choosing what to play and getting jobs dj'ing. Even if you've been dj'ing for ages it's really useful.

I think this is a relevent topic to post this but I've bought a Vestax PCV150 mixer from http://www.djstore.co.uk
Usually you'll see this mixer for £300 but they're selling it for £225 and it arrived the next day! Delivery is free on orders totalling in excess of £100. They have loads of cheap products and customer reviews - well worth taking a look.
