I mean it really depends on where you are located! Hardcore is generally more loved on the west cost in Seattle and In California (specifically in San Fran)
I'd say if you were to play hardcore at conventions like MAGfest or something like that then you'd get people moving, but I don't know man, wherever you live you'd just have to try and see how people would react.
