When you get a white label do you pen the name of the tracks on it or just leave it? Does it have any effect on the later value of the track? I mean, if a collector wanted to buy it would he pick the white label without writing or just not give a damn? I want to on mine so I don't have to look in the dead wax every time I want to figure out which track it is, but I'm just curious if there are any consequences of not leaving the white label shiny white. Maybe it's a dumb question, I dunno.

sorry I didn't understand... sell your hardcore records?

I write on all my white labels what the track is and put draw a * on the good side to play :)

Sell? I didn't write sell once in that post. It's just that I have many white labels and promos and whatnot and was just wondering if I should leave them blank or label them myself. I know they aren't baseball cards but I was curious as to whether labelling them would kill their status as being in "mint condition." I'm not looking to sell them and I'll spin em as much as I want so I guess the question was really more of a hypothetical / public survey type deal. Thanks for the reply though

Keeping it mint to me is pointless to me as I never intend to sell, compair, brag about or whatever you do with "mint" items... I get the value out of the music and not the condition of the label, but I can see your point. Also when you are flipping through your records in a dark venue and you only have 30 seconds to mix in your record you will not have time to look at the label etching on the record, when I am looking for a record to drop in I need to find it quick :)

just write it on the sleeve if you're worried about it
