OK. Being as I am from the US and had never heard of DJ Rankin before the recent threads on this site, I have a few questions.
1. Does this guy really get booked at major events?
2. Does he actually record himself scratching over someone else's track and then claim the track as his own? (as well as other methods of ripping off tracks)
I'm not trying to start another "I Hate Rankin" thread. I am just honestly curious. A member of his forum led me to believe that Rankin is "the next big thing" in UK hardcore.
Please give me the deal on this guy.

He's a bad Dj that seems to either throw his own events, or only plays out with the same dj's. He makes poor bootlegs. Lets not begin another thread about this. Talk crap about him on USH where flame wars run rampant. Lets keep our forums clean.

Thank you Sam, I was beginning to see the start of another "hate on rankin" thread in the making, and I'm sure that was not the intention of djnateking.

From what I have seen/heard he takes existing tracks slaps samples and accapellas on top of them and calls them his own. He has somehow gathered something of a following by doing this leading a few uneducated hardcore listeners to believe tracks like angels eyes are his work and making them easily obtainable by way of free downloads. He only ever plays under 18 party's generally attended by those who no nout about hardcore and mainly put on by himself and friends.
Hope I have answered your questions without spurring on any general slaging spam.

I'd love to know how he fares! It's quite a leap going from school halls to a major party. I'd also be REALLY interested to know how many of his "own" tunes he plays as well.........heh!
