hey guys... i wrote a sweet article on the rave scene in canada, and i hope you'd read it!

http://kitschmag.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=158&Itemid=31

first paragraph:
"At the speed of sound
By D. Evan Mulvihill
Fall 2006

When my boyfriend suggested that we go to a rave in Montreal one day last February, my answer was probably the one most people would give: “What? Aren’t those dangerous? Besides,” I added, “isn’t the point of those just to do drugs?” Being a member of the Generation “Anti-X,” I had heard that raves were dark, dangerous, drug-filled holes. In my flight through the Canadian rave scene, I discovered that raves are about a lot more than Ecstasy and glwowsticks—beneath the drugs, weird clothes, and excessive amounts of beaded bracelets, there lay a rich community composed of people from all walks of life, uniting in spirit for an all-night dancing ritual."

Read and saved. <3

It was very lovely, and I felt connected to it.

it was as if Moses had parted the Red Sea of junglists and a rainbow-colored stream of candy ravers flowed right in to fill the gap.

Pure comedy!
But so true! haha

hehe, ur article truely reflects alot of what we see the rave scene should be seen as. If I tell people I go to raves 85% of the time they think im a druggie, when 85% of the time im actually sober. Music is what moves me and keeps me up until 5am in the ****ing morning, not drugs.

I love hardcore & DnB so I hang out with both crowds. I've noticed the junglists hate the candy kids and the candy kids dont give a sh*t :) and keep raving. Although I wouldn't be caught dead wearing candy I still love you kids!

I'd rather be seen as a druggie than a painted, bead encrusted, fluorescent freak!

I agree.

But like it or not, for every person who thinks ravers are drugged up idiots, there's the same amount (particularly outside the U.S) who think candy kids are (lets put it politely) a little strange!
