Some pics up of the Ps3( Sorry bout the size ) and the Nintendo Revoultion
PS3

Controller

Real photo

It is massive, or he is tiny

Specs

quote:
Sony also confirmed the PlayStation 3, will use Blu-Ray discs as its media format. The discs can hold up to six times as much data as current-generation DVDs. It will also supporrd CR-ROM, CDR+W, DVD, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD+R. It also confirmed the machine would be backwards compatible all the way to the original PlayStation.

Sony also laid out the technical specs of the device. The PlayStation 3 will feature the much-vaunted Cell processor, which will run at 3.2 Ghz and feature 2.18 teraflops of performance. It will sport 256mb XDR main RAM at 3.2 Ghz, have 256MB of GDDR VRAM at 700mhz, a detachable 2.5 inch HDD slot, six usb 2.0 ports, Memory Stick Duo, a SD slot, a compact flash memory slot, Compact flash slot, 2 hdmi outputs, 1 av multi out, 1 SPDIF optical output, and 1-gigabit Ethernet built in port

The PlayStation 3 will also sport some hefty multimedia features, such as video chat, internet access, digital photo viewing, digital audio and video. Sony Computer Entertainment head Ken Kutaragi introduced it as a Super computer for computer entertainment

Not much more powerful than the Xbox 360, but its nice to see they are going with wireless controllers even if they look terrible.
And the Revolution its tiny and the best looking of the lot.

When i saw PS2 the first time, i was rather shocked. As Sony has IMO the best designers in electronics. Guess the same people dont design their gaming electronics :p

btw, do you know when PS3 is supposed to be released? As ive been planning to buy PS2, but if the 3rd one is released this year, i'm gonna wait for that one.

I've had both PS and PS2s since the day they were released in Australia. Never had even a hiccup, both still work perfectly and read every disc I put in. Sony all the way, Microsoft should stick to what their best at... in fact they're not even good at making operating systems. Microsoft should just crawl away and die.

hooray for backwards engineering

the revolution is cute, about the size of three jewel cases stacked.

never had a problem with my ps2, just had problems with the ps1...guess it didn't help that I played japanese games on a NTSC version =P I can't believe those came out in '94...seems so long ago =/

release date for ps3 is slated for spring of 2006, I don't know if they are releasing it a couple months early in japan or not...

I'll probably wind up buying all three systems =P

wish I could of gone to E3 oh well, atleast I'm going to NAMM when it comes to indy =p

I used to be a big Nintendo fan, but now I'm just sick of playing the same games over and over again, nintendo just rehash all the same stuff over and over and continued to disapoint me... I left nintendo... I'm 0wned by xb0x now :)

I think the PS2 controller looks like if you throw it it will come back to you, perhaps that's a feature? The PS2 also looks massive, I think they had to make it that big to cool it, the Xbox 360 has dual fans on the back of it thus it's smaller but of the same spec as the PS3.

Nintendo strategy for the future is cute small games, I dont think that works outside of Japan, typical Japanese company thinking. Also what was the big revolution that was suppose to blow everyone away? All I see is a regular console, I mean wasn't the idea of the name revolution that the console be something never seen before. If the revolution was the online stuff I'm gonna laugh my ass off....

it's all hardcore.
