... too bad he's pretty much abandoned it. I read a couple of interviews just before his little tour of Oz and he said in one of them that he considers his HHC production efforts as something he's grown out of, although he didn't go so far as to say that he was ashamed to have done it - after all, the initial rise of his profile came from his happyhard days.

As for CD's, I remember a couple that a friend of mine used to have that were filled with Elstak tracks, but I don't know whether they were mixed by him or by another DJ. I'll post an answer when I get one.

yea he did do a cd with all his big hhc vocal tracks, and bouncy techno tracks from 95/96. dont remember what it was called at the moment though. now he's doing tracks called "your mother sucks c***s in hell."

True, true...I read somewhere(don't remember) that cause he did happy hardcore he was not recognized as a true hardcore dj and was not valued for it, so he dissed the HHC and went to do "kept-in-letting-out-anger-supressed-feelings tunes" so he get some recognition as a hardcore dj.

Just because you dont like or understand it doesn't mean its better or worse. people have different preferences... in the netherlands these days they're producing dark-as-hell and ruff-as-hell stuff... they love massive distorted kicks and evil samples...

the dutch scene has always been different to the uk scene, it just happened that there was a bit of overlap for a few yrs.

then again... all his happy stuff was pretty much dutch/happy gabber, and look where all those producers are now. i just bought his newest record on Offensive and i love it. "we're bombing eardrumz and waking up the dead!" the "your mother..." ep was so bad... it was terrible. jeez. at that point i didnt think he could do anything right. and sam, i had no idea paul owned traxtorm.
