Ive had FL Studio for 2 years and i keep making different parts of the track. Intro & bass, melody and breakdown but i never finish what i started so ive got over 200 project files on my computer just sitting there doing nothing because i dont know how to programme different synths and what to use, i havn't a clue on Effects and when i ask people for help on certain things, it all sounds jibberish, lol...
" Cut the high end of "
" Add an LFO "
I aint got a clue lol..
My question is .........................................................................
Does anyone know any good magazines that i could buy that will help me learn and understand synthesis ?
Thanks in advance !
Currently using FL Studio.

Computer music is a decent magazine. It may not talk about FL too often but producing on any sequencer is essentially the same thing.
Sounds like you need someone to teach you "the basics"... Surely you know at least one other dance music producer who could show you the ropes for a few beers...?

You need to find something that teaches you the basics of synthesis on the net. Not something you will find in a magazine as it is far too general. If it's still not intuitive after that then do what Dain-Ja said (or both ideally). It's not complicated stuff at all. It's a matter of understanding what each section of a synthesizer does and then practicing (wether you get to that point by reading or not). The way i started was going to a preset i like, really studying it and attempting to re-create it. By doing that you get to find out what is used to create what effect and once you repeat that enough times you just get to know what does what.

yeah i agree with Dain-Ja. have someone to show ya the basics and go through everything with you. Its a great way to learn as well working with someone else and having someone you can ask questions with etc
