I disagree, however on topic, you also failed to mention anything on the actual OP except "you didn't expect this?" even though the actual original post goes into a lot more then what you posted. Usually I don't like getting into this stuff, but when I get put into a group when someone didn't expand anymore then everyone else I have to defend myself.
Sorry to hear about all the bad news. Not too sure how things work over across the pond, so I don't get why you can't move? I can get the locks if, say, you lived in an apartment building. How exactly does the council effect things over there?

In that case i was talking about the person being offended. In this case i am talking about the attitudes of those being offensive. The former situation isn't any better than this one, I just wasn't talking about the same thing. I would say the same thing to the original poster here but it dosn't change how i feel about the comments. It's not a big deal. I just felt that it was unfair for pretty much every comment to be slating/taking the piss out of someone for something completely irrelevant while ignoring the real topic.

Ah okay fair enough. I get that.
But being irrelevant and going off on tangents is definitely not a new thing on this forum, neither is being blatantly against that sort of typing. Those things have been around for a long time - and whilst you've been here longer than me, i can safely say it's been around since i joined at least.
The amount of "ridicule" (which personally i don't think is the right word at all) he's received is the same now as it would have been 4 years ago when i joined. To be honest, he got off pretty light considering forums and the internet in general are pretty strict about the etiquette being that typing like that pisses just about everyone off.
In fact, ignoring forum topics is why i like this forum. The conversation that ensues is almost never linear and it spurs into other topics, which is like real life and the natural flow of conversation.
From what i understand, the topic is about a pretty shitty thing that happened to him? that sucks and i'm sorry to hear that - but would typing that instead of what i said drastically change the flow of this topic? No. It wouldn't. Would it change his situation? Nope. So why the **** does it matter?
Matt you can hardly illustrate the attitude of this forum based on a reaction that would have happened basically anywhere else on the internet... And if there really IS an attitude problem, you're a part of it. The only reply you felt necessary to leave was a condescending question. Pot/kettle.

I think it's bad anywhere on the internet. The point is that here is what is or what was a tight-knit scene and everyone (on this site at least) had respect for each other. My comment was a question. I don't want to argue about it either because imo you're one of the more likeable members of the forum...
But i still think this forum is tight-knit with the regular members. When i posted about the mos job i got, everyone was really supportive. Same when i was looking for work and looking for an apartment. Everyone was really helpful. I have a bunch of people from here on facebook and msn that i talk to regularly.
I don't think necessarily that the forum attitude sucks, i just think there's not as much of the inner circle left here any more.

That's a hell of an unreliable cousin. It will take time to fix it all. Try to find a calm to find out what was going on and if you're still pissed, you can sue him to pay the amends.
Your grammar seems OK but u should separate ur text in sentences. You don't use periods, so its hard 2 understand.
