I have a tattoo on my spine. Big oriental dragon holding a yin-ying shield. It hurt like hell, but I won't ever regret it. If you're sure it's what you want, go for it, but think about it for at least about a year. And try to sketch a design yourself, you want it to look really cool. Then when you go to the parlor you can have the artist sketch it for you and then you're set. It's going to hurt worse then anything you've ever experienced just to let you know, but afterwards you can say you're hardcore :)

well thanks for that, none of those will be my first tatto, my first one is gonna be a celtic design on the top of my arm ( big one though) then another on the other side, then one around my wrist which im not too sure about, then theres the 1's on my back and the only one im sure about is born to a raver cos its evidentally true.

Well, I have mine on the back side of my neck. I have three cartoon shapped stars with a tuquoise/blue fill in. I suppose you could say it's rave related...
At some points the pain is bearable, but at others, it feels like someone is drilling something through your vaines. (is that the right word in english?) But, it still hurt quite a bit though. Probabaly would have hurt more if I wasn't so ****ed up at the time 
Make sure that you think about what you wanna get for a while before though. Coz you might regret it. Mine, I let my hair down & no one notices it.

I aint got one yet but am gonna get a smiley face. I by everything that has that classic rave style smiley face on so I should complete my collection with a tattoo.

Though smiley faces were on a lot of the classic rave stuff, the :) is much older then the rave scene. It actually was a hippy thing that started with those "Have a Nice Day" shirts and then there was a revival when that "Don't Worry, Be Happy" song came out and shirts said that. Now you can pretty much find them anywhere.
