This is the kinda thread everybody can have their say in,so no excuse for not replying!
Do you prefer hearing hardcore live like in tape packs and stuff.Or do
you prefer it in the studio?
I definately prefer hearing it live, the atmosphere and all.Its so much better IMO.
I'm not saying I dont like hearing stuff not live but I like it live because you can feel the energy.
Discuss.

It really depends ... there are some DJ's who can mix well in the studio but choke when up on the scaffolding of a big rave, while there are others who mix well in front of an audience but couldn't make a studio mix to save their lives. There are, of course, DJ's who can spin well under both sets of circumstances and we're all very appreciative of them, aren't we?
Of course, hearing hardcore live has one major advantage: your average rave will most likely have much, much better sound output than your average bedroom stereo.

Oh yeah, and just to clear things up a bit.
I don't mean just live as in goin to a rave or whateva,I mean listening to live tapes as well.
I'm too young to go Slammin,UD,Helter Skelter,Dizstrukshon...etc.Though I did manage to
catch Sy live once.So anyway I listen to live tapes from these events.

studio mix UNLESS you're at the rave where it's being recorded live. many of the tape packs are shitty quality

ya deffinately take a studio mix over a live recording. Quality is usually far supperior and there aren't any anoying MCs screaming into the mic.
many live sets i've gotten the mc is so loud on the recording that he covers up the music...:P mcs are supposed to add to the track not take away from it

Studio mix. The sound quality on a lot of live mixes is poor, and the MC's can be a bit annoying when listening at home IMO.
