Been cheking these template vids lately. Always curious about how other people approach production.
especially liked the cubase one as it's my main DAW atm.

2 things, though:

When you mention headroom and summing in this vid are you talking about RAM usage or soundwave amplitude?

Second, if you use Cubase yet happen to have Reason as well, you can always Re-Wire in the samplers. Which imo is a far cheaper solution than getting Kontakt.

1 - when i mention summing its the method of summing tracks down a particular stem so they are not all blasted out of master output, its an audio thing that can help get clarity in your mix the most traditional way of doing in with a DAW is to send drum mix synth mix ect down AUX/BUS then mix each section individually for the final mix so it can be balanced out which in end gives you a cleaner and in some cases wider mix

2 - with cubase and especially working with audio samples i find there is no other option but cubase reason lets you save things as SF or REX which is cool BUT it uses up way more cpu than just running basic kontakt patch there is no right or wrong here i just personally like Kontakt better as i feel it offers me more flexibility than most other samplers and loads of quality add-on content out there for it

unfortunately no i did not do it in 9 as there was few issues when converting project over to 10 HOWEVER if you are using 9 may swell upgrade to 10 i was bait sceptical at first (even tho i am apple trainer) but the way it handles CPU and 64x plugins onto of cool edit features and that make it worth the upgrade its under $200 so cheaper than 2x cubase upgrades can't go wrong :)
