Happy Hardcore is better
Its such a versitile style, really actually being a prefix
Happy Hardcore Techno is what most ppl refer to as HHC
but really it could be any thing
Happy Hardcore Trance, Happy Hardcore DnB, Happy Hardcore Country,
It doesn't matter, as long as its hard, fast, and not evil.

i love both of course, but i prefer old skool..
its got just as much energy (or more so sometimes), but does so at a slower pace. it doesnt need to be fast to have energy. its much more manic and the tracks constantly change.. doesnt do the same thing for too long, and there's lots of variation.

IMO Old Skool defo! But that's coz Im old enough to have raved to it! It was the starting blocks for all hardcore and D&B. I'm not saying that newer HHC is no good, just that it all came from Old Skool. There was a lot more variation in Old Skool too, not just the happy/dark thing, but choons were a lot more unique. Newer hardcore uses a lot of the same beats, loops and noises as other choons about. Old Skool tunes often sound completely different and have different drums, synths etc'. Sometimes too, the poor production made the choon have more feeling.
Besides, now I am a producer (kinda!) I find myself listening to an old choon going "How the hell did they do that?!". Atari ST's and crap samplers!

IMO, there are completely different but again agreeing with tommo they are both so f**king good how can you choose... I am 22, so have a fair range of old skool knowledge but HHC i suppose is always there to cheer me up whenever i am feeling down.. so HHC IT IS!!

HAPPY HARDCORE!!!!!!!!!! and im referring to the cheesiest hardcore u can imagin, the happy stuff that just sais, , SHUT UP AND BE HAPPY!! i like the old skool happy hardcore ( to me thats like older bonkers or older happy 2b hardcore style) i guess thats 96-2001ish,,todays hardcore is to dark and trancy, altho there are some great toons out there...the dark stuff just gets me in the gutt, makes me wanna puke =.= HAPPY HAPPY HARDCORE!!!!!!
I like DJ spree a lot, www.sonicfury.net and anabolic frolic & Silver1, they have the happier vibe which is great...cuzz the happiest stuff is the b E s TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTmakes me wanna cry of happiness ^_^
