A real kandy kid is a master of vibe. Maybe they aren't always actively pushing it by say, handing out lolipops, but they always put me in the best mood, just by being lively. They're basically the small happy hardcore fan base we have in Texas. Massive respect for the PLUR crew!

Kandy Kid is more of a way of thinking and acting than it is a style of clothing and a way of dressing up, although that is an important part of it. The most important part of being a part of the Kandy Kru is to uphold P.L.U.R.
Peace Love Unity RESPECT
The last part is the part that a lot of up in your face, tryin to give you stuff while you're busy with something, wavin glowsticks in your face while you're dancing, chattering a million miles a hour to you when you just want quiet cause you're cracked from the three beans ya flipped the night before that Kandy Kids seem to forget.
I never forgot, why can't they remember.
Otherwise, I've personnally always loved the Old Skool Toronto Kandy look.
Big huge fun fur pants, a dress shirt and tie, side ways hat, all the accessories, which includes plastic jewelry of all sorts and of course the ever so important soother.
The biggest tip I can give anyone who is a Candy Kid is to not over do it with the plastic. A little is fine, more is ok, lots is too much, more than that is too heavy for proper dancing, so have fun wobbling back and forth all night.

Candy Ravers in many cities, here in Winnipeg especially, seem to have a bad rap. They are often stereotyped as being incoherent E-tards, who are more annoying than anything.
I think most of you will agree that not ALL candy ravers are like there...just a small handful unfortunately.
I find that most candy ravers are just very positive people, who want nothing more than to enjoy themselves and make sure the people around them are having a good time. They bring a lot of life with them to the party, true positive energy, which is something that a party really needs.
I don’t know if I would classify myself as a candy raver really, I guess I am candyish. I wear a stuffed Raichu backpack to almost every party I go to, and will usually have a lot of sparkles in my hair. I don’t wear beads or anything because I don’t like having stuff around my wrists/neck while dancing. Most of the time you will find me on the floor dancing my ass off, usually with a smile on my face. I'm usually too busy dancing to talk much to people but I always love to make new friends too...
One thing I noticed is when I am going nuts to happy hardcore on the floor, though some people might not dance to it, you'll see a smile on their face as the watch myself and others going absolutely mental...and the people dancing with you dance harder as u go harder, and in turn you do the same. I love that feeling of the build of up energy...
Anyway I got sidetracked a little I think...But what I’m getting at I guess is candy river or not I think we all should just go out there with a positive attitude at a party, not complain about the venue or the lights and just have fun, cause happiness can be contagious.

"The point of being a candy kid is to capture the true essence of a child. It doesn't have a thing to do with how many plastic pony beads you have on or how long you've been going to parties. It's an outlook on life. A Candy Raver is a raver with such a happy and positive vibe that they feel they need to wear the vibe. There is no guideline to what a candy raver has to wear, they wear whatever makes them feel happy.
Candy ravers may share "candy" or plastic beads. It was a way to make friends and give them something to remember you by.
Unlike the stereotype.. not all candykids use drugs. Like any other person, drug usage varies from raver to raver. Candykids are not the pile of kids in an e-puddle on the floor but those kids dancing their boOTy off and making everybody else smile and dance.
*Most* candyravers believe in PLUR. PLUR stands for Peace, Love, Unity and Respect. PLUR is not only something that we feel at a rave, but something we strive to live by in our everyday lives. The term PLUR was coined by Frankie Bones when he gave a very important speech after one of his sets. He explained what the scene was about and why he had brought it to NY: Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect. When he finished everybody in the ware house waved their hands in the air in complete unity. For many it was the most beautiful speech anyone has ever heard"

I'm not just candy at parties but everyday!!! I even go to work this way. And another thing is that peeps always tell me to stop being candy and to be either hardkore or junglist.......NOW..... I want to tell them SHUT UP!!!!! Candyravers have been around always....ALWAYS!!!! When raving started almost everyone dressed weird and crazy not just the candykids!!! So technically we were there in the beginning and will be there in the end. DON"T HATE US CUZ YA" DON"T UNDERSTAND US!!!! Just let us be ourselves like we let you be yourselves!!!!

hmmmm what an intriguing post..... sounds like a very uneducated opinion of what happened "when raving started" at which time you'd have been just starting your school years.
one problem i have is that in some cases you get alot of etards who are "candy", and if you're into harm minimisation, you often find that the people who have trouble at parties from overinudlgence are also these people.... i'm ok with that in a way, but i wish they'd just admit it instead of standing there trying to tell me that they're into the music blah blah blah blah blah. i have friends who are candy and they're great people, but some candy's are very superficial...
