I like Gabber
producing gabber would be easier I would think then freeform, cause it removes the melody part of the tune...the backbone is the bass and not a piano or whatever instrument ur using.
I like mixes like scott brown's were it builds up from happy to gabber
well I, I will, I will hardcore

I listen to pretty much all Hardcore genres, if you wanna listen a "Gabba" or "dutch Hardcore" (as i call it) radio go to http://www.shoutcast.com and type on the search -> Hardcore Only. There should come a channel called Hardcore Holland, it's very good :) __________________________________________ Signature?

I dont like the pure gabba tracks... Like the ones by Evil Activities or Dr. Z Vago... However, i love the thumpin' tracks by Scott Brown (How Else Can I Say It? Life or Death & Self Destruction) and others such as The Playah - The Bounce! (my sig!)
Shake it Bop it Bounce it Flip it,
BOUNCE BOUNCE C'MON & BOUNCE!!!

funny - I watch/listen to people talk about Gabba as if it's new because you all mention the most recent tracks... History lesson: Gabba was around from 1991 not as music but as a Dutch movment in Hooligans/Skinheads and the music the Gabbers listened to was hardcore. and Gabba from 1995-1996 was not all about hate and anger cause it was inspired by the Happy movment of the UK stuff hence the term "Happy-Gabba"
as for the new gabba, it's been spoonfed to the public like it's a new thing so that's maybe why people get confused.

most people first heard gabba (unless in europe) when "hokus pokus - here johnny" came out because of its success in charts (I remember the pacman monster going thu a weird pipe) , even that was along time after it first came out.
I think the happier gabba is a good sign, its a harfway point....
thu compare "tha bounce" to "heres johnny"... heres johnny is more happy in its old skoolness
well I, I will, I will hardcore

Love dutch hardcore like neophyte, dj paul etc but i never saw that as gabba. Probly splittin hairs but 2 me gabba's even harder shit with a constant kick drum and occassionally an evil sample or dutch guy screamin somethin about bass or ********er. Probably jus gabba's calmed down but to me new dutch hardcore's too slow and musical these days to call it the same as gabba. Someone please correct me cos i love this style of hardcore but dont have the same knowledge on it as i do with other genres.

I've heard many dutch hardcore tunes played live so that they are pitched up,
so i've always just labeled gabber as fast dutch hardcore.

As ya'll probably know already, I live for gabber. I've been a gabber since 1997 and am proud of quite a nice cd collection and a good knowledge of both the old and the newskool HC (gabber).
Still prefer the early darkcore and gabber to the new, but the new is great partymusic.
And about hype.fm, anyone from here on that forum 2? Cuz I am

don't supose you could take time to list your cd collection could you? I've got all the Thunderdomes 1 to 22 which I'm now proud of... sort of - they are actually the repressings but don't worry about it too much.
