I think that to be an advanced member you should have 1000 posts, 500 is a little easy to get.

well i think that would be good actually. I ent been on here long and im a ways up thjere. Then again if ya get to 500 your a pretty committed member

Yeah same ere, or maybw 1000 = commited member , coz 500 posts is easy 2 get, specially is u can post like 5 or more times in a big topic.

i agree, but the thing is, all those that spammed to get stars, would only spam more to get the stars back, not what we need...

Maybe a reduction would be better, or no status at all. At least this way you'll minimise the pointless posts people do to attain a higher status. Really, what are stars? The higher the level of status there is to be achieved, the more crap people will post just to get there!

yeah, but in actual fact a newbie and an advanced member doesn't mean much except in regards to high postage. If different member status had different rights/authorities then I'm sure people would complain.

I think the system is fine, 500 post wasnt easy, i've been here for ages, I got appointed mod at 350post. Its easy to see whos who in here just by what they write in a post.

Can't agree more with this. So many people with silly one-liner replies (which aren't even funny) or just useless banter all in the name of getting more posts and more stars. If it didn't track your posts at all then some of the spamming would stop.
People will say that the number of posts shows how long u have been around and what kind of seniority u should have. For some this is true but for many it isn't.
I think if the whole stars and post tracking system were tossed out it would be better for the site. Its not like respect for certain knoweldgeable indviduals would be lost because suddenly they dont have their 2000 posts to show how much they have contributed to the site.
