Who says u cant? Producing a track with punk influence shouldnt be a problem. Someone should do one and post it here :)

Your right about hard metal having the same fast beats and similar to hardcore but m8 u got it all wrong. Korn and deftones deftones may be a type of hard metal but here in the US we call our hard metal "hardcore" and korn and the deftones definetly is not hardcore. Hardcore is defined usually by its fast pace beat and the use of a "hardcore voice" and if u listen to any of our hardcore u will definetly know the differene. If u want some hardcore look for bands like Unearth, Avenged Seven Fold, Bleeding Through, The Bled, Throw Down, and Scars of Tomorrow just to name a few. Those bands are the real hardcore, the drum beats are hella fast and they use the "hardcore voice". I use to be all about that hardcore before i moved into this hardcore. My friends still get confused when i say hardcore.

This post isnt about flaming your type of hard metal but to me i cant call korn and the deftones "hard metal". To me there just metal. Just needed to get my own opinion across :)

Sorry but i hate korn :p Metal was a time in my life were i hated any other type of metal that tried to call themselves hard when I knew they wernt. Now a days that "hardcore" i used to listen to is now the standard of hard metal. But I also share your views. This hardcore is splitting into genres like breakbeat and freeform, and people are starting to split up. We all need to realize its all hardcore and stay together. Dont take anything i said personly :p I just kept my views from my metal days.

 | Posted - 2005/06/24 :  01:55:53 yeah wow i was never successful in converting people to listen to "hardcore" except my best friend. But she doesn't listen to it all the time not very consistant. I think its awesome to hear that converting peoples music taste. I don't see resembles in punk or anything. One thing that annoys me was like i say hardcore than like metal or punk? im UGH! lol...i sorta have to explain it to them. Im sure some of you guys run into that problem.

My liberty spikes were fabulous. The gabber and punk attitude is somewhat the same well it was in netherlands/holland espcially neo-nazi punks.(the whole sense of nationalism)

Damaged converse sneakers, candy bracelets, spikes, chains, and the attitude... but only a couple times cuz I vary in style hen it comes down to fashion. All I needed was the freaky hair and some piercings and tatoos. I can rock pretty much everything, except ghetto (yuk).
