http://rain.prohosting.com/djrux/mixes/mix2.mp3 Hey all, It would be great if I could get some feedback on my second attempt at a mix. I would appreciate some pointers on fading to the next track. Also, comment on track selection, even if you dont know what I'm playing. This is my 2nd mix as DJ R-U-X (R U Xperianced). Thanks all! ----------------------------- This boot, your ass i r h0tx0r u r n0tx0r

need to bring tracks in earlier. all tracks can pretty much be broken down in to 4 counts of 8, 4 of 4, or 4 of 16. that means either 4 beats to a measure 8 to a measure or 16 to a measure. blue anthem is 4 of 8 followed by 4 of 8 then it goes to next verse.
its sound like crap explaining it but you want the measures to sync up.
Track A-|......|-|......|-|......|-|......|/\|......|-|......|-|......|-|......|End A
cue up track B
~~~~~~-|......|-|......|-|......|-|......|
open volume on B slowly close A
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-|......|-|......|-|......|-|......|
B now is A

OK, I'll try that. So can most good DJ's just hear a track, recognize the beat pattern, and match it to the next track?
So whats the best way to get the beat matching with the other track? I've seen some DJs use the platter, some use pitch controll, and some use the nipple (or whatever that metal thing is sticking out of the middle of the deck is called).

most good djs know their records like the back of their hand. once you get familiar with them you'll know how they go. first use the pitch shifter to match. platter and nipple are used for minor corrections.
