HEY, WASN'T THERE HARDCORE BEFORE RAVERBABY??? Everyone talks about the raverbaby like it's a psalm out of the hardcore bible. what about next generation? or World of Obsession, or Quosh? where would hardcore be without those labels too?

don't stand and stare, just kick your legs in the air

I can safely say this is the most pointless post I've read in a while, I know forums are for discussions and debate but six pages of 'Raverbaby are wicked, no their not.' Come on. Were all here cause we like Hardcore in some form or other, Everyone's got their own opinion which ill happily listen to until I'm bored, which is now.

Have a good new year everyone

I love these threads because most people think they know what they are talking about but they dont.

In actual fact Raver Baby is one of the most successful hardcore labels in the world with one of the highest anthem to release ratio.

While I dont like Raver Baby (or release schedule) , I appriecate what it has done for the scene. It has released many a track that rocks peoples socks off and brings new people to the scene. Can you complain with that?

Who cares if its cheese, don't be selfish and think of the coverage and think of the scene.

But is raverbaby hardcore or pop music. If you played a raverbaby set in a hardcore rave in Holland or Germany for example you,d be lucky to getout alive.Or at an underground hardcore party in the UK aswell come to think of it. I must say if raverbaby started calling there music popcore it,d solve a lot of problems would it not.

Its definetly not pop music, maby "Euro Hardcore" or something. And Hardcore is a wide genre witch includes all Hardcore subgenres, so inventing another subgenre wouldnt make it any less Hardcore. So i dont really get your point, as in how it would solve anything?

Raverbaby has been influencial in bringing hardcore back to the masses with its trance sound appealing to the hard dance masses, however it could be argued that Next Gen, with Brisk writing for Mixmag and mixing a cover cd have pushed it further.

Alot of people say RB was the first to use the trance style of hardcore, when you look back Trixxy - Sunrise, Scott Brown - Yeah Oh Yeah, Interstate - Forever Yours all out in 1999 (2 years before RB) all using trance sounds and riffs, thats just to name a few. I think alot of stuff Scott Brown was producing before RB started, was the start of the hardcore revival and layed the foundation for the style we know now (im talkin UK, coz i know someone will mention Holland at some point ).

The people who pioneered the trance sound in the 90's was man from uncle records and GBT, stuff like bang! the future v dave clarkes stargate tune for example.
Personally I think the Nu NRG collective is more responsible for hardcores current popularity.

I can't understand why some of you are slagging Raverbaby, its a top quality hardcore label and has contributed so much to the scene!! I'd like to see some of you people dishing out the label come up with such a better 1.
