I've been thinking about this one, and my conclusion is...I have no idea.
The first track I ever heard wasn't the one that got me into the scene, so it doesn't stand out as much as some. I guess it was probably Samplemania, SMD #3, Toytown, Rainbow In The Sky or something along those lines.

My first vinyl i ever bought Cold cut - Bits n pieces way back in 1988-89
that shows me age lol
suppose u could class that as hardcore with them samples ;)
First heard hardcore way back in 1991 the helicopter tune from the drum and bass era jungle as ya could call it hardcore! back in the days! also NRG - He never lost his hardcore! still sounds fresh today this tune!
listening to dj spen , dj yoz, DJ Smooth smokey joe, and the bucket street massive and the crime watch show's all top underground dj's that where on a station called wear fm which no longer exists now this station closed 1994 and from then on made me get into it all mixing n that ;)
then me first ever hardcore gabba record i bought on vinyl was
SEMTEX - THE SEMTEX EP - EVOLUTION GOLD 13
DJ MIND CONTROLLER (HARDCORE MF/JUST DANCE 4 ME) 1995 PAUL RILEY (BOUNCE ALERT/HOOVER MADNESS/DOMKOP)
STEVEN BILSDON
Listened to lots of dream fm tapes likes of DJ Tom thumb
the superman label that brings back memory's
and from that changed me whole new revolution of buying hardcore lol
Wounder if they still produce today! anyone remember them ?

Not sure, but I haven't been into hardcore for very long.
Heavens Above is the first to really hit me, though. It makes me think of my dad.

im with Yanis on this 1. although i didnt grow up in the happyhardcore era (4 the obvious reason that i was born on the year that it all kicked of) but the tapes seem to fly aroun, and i was with Yanis and he showed me a tape of his older sisters. if i rember correctly, it had shooting star (bang) and heart of gold, as well as all the other clasics. but then i was never too keen on happyhardcore so it never attracted me. a couple of years passed, n then i heard tunes such as steem and hevans above. at that point i was loving it. i know most people on here will argue that by then hardcore had changed into an unrecognisible sound, but this was the sound which influenced me.
i think the first vinyl i purchased was "your shining" that must hav been in the bonkers 11 period when i got it. dont know what year that is.
