I got an e-mail from "[email protected]" and it had some file that i should install, now eventhough i wouldnt trust that especially if it is microsoft, but just thought that is it possible for someone else to send e-mail from that type of address?

Well it sayd that my IE needs a virus update, so i went to microsoft.com and check if need updates. I never open those... dont know what you call them, well those files that are attached to e-mail's... attachments?

Yeah, don't use it, it is a virus...and yes it's easy to send e-mails from addresses such as @microsoft.com or any address you like!

If you’re going to send an e-mail virus out, and disguise it as an official Microsoft security e-mail, you better be damn sure you use correct grammar..

Firstly Microsoft would never email you a patch to install, Microsoft don't know everyone's email address.
Second never open ANYTHING from ANYONE as an attachment unless you are expecting it from that person.
Third buy a virus scanner, the internet is a wild town :)
