i was reading sumthing on one of the sites about makina in the North East and a lot of ppl were mentioning 'BCN mixing'. They also mentioned that it was only spanish djs like Pastis and Buenri and Skudero that used it. Can any of u world class djs out there explain this 2me?

"BCN" stands for Barcelona. BCN mixing is just one of the ways makina is mixed in spain - if you listen to some mixes by Pastis & Buenri you'll know exactly what i mean lol. Its basically constent mixing rather than mixing a tune one by one. Sounds mad as fuk!

to my knowledge, it's a form of 3 turntable mixing where you use the elements of one record and mix it in with other parts of the other 2 records to sort of make a new track or a remix sort of deal.

for example, you could take the percussions from record A combined with the stabs from record B combined with the synths from record C. that's just what i've been told, i've not yet heard this style of mixing although it sounds pretty exciting.
