This is an assumption, but I think you're not using reference tracks enough.
I had a hard time locking into the groove. At one point I thought the kick and bass were flipped on the piano roll. I also thought at first that the bottom range of frequencies would fill out at some point, but it didn't.
Reference tracks are meant to be a pointer as to where your track stands against a better mixed and mastered release.

Your right I didn't use a reference track at all. I super overdrived and compressed the kick so I didn't think it would blend with the bass and didn't do any separation.
If you're wondering why...haha.....I was obsessed with making something from pure scratch with no rules this time, no reference structure, anything.
Also I'm an idiot and did this on $10 headphones cause my good ones broke, I'll buy some monitors for the next song.
I'll write down your note and try to correct that for the album version, thank you for the detailed feedback.
