Just looking at it today, it's such a shame how few tracks we had that were classics with certain styles.
Pre 2004ish it's sonic, total xtc, oxygen.
Post with that epic snare and percussion sound. My angel, ultimate high (remix), electric (and the bonkers remix), torn, heartbeats, sunlight (remix), someday (remix), I adore.
The sound evolved too quickly and ended up as it did, awful.

Yes you're right in what you're saying - the sound evolved too quickly.
It's harder to find good UK Hardcore tracks now but still some great tracks around. I just came across this one from Darwin recently - loving this!

There's also this CD release that had a lot of Breeze & Styles' early stuff

Their remix of Time Still Drifts Away by The Disco Brothers is incredible and criminally under-discussed.
