I'm still alittle confused on how DJs spin. Like what does that mean? I know they have their turntables and what not and play music, but how do they do that?Also what is a synthesizer?? Is that how you spell it? And is there anything you can do with a keyboard? Are you able to buy something to change the sounds are something? Please tell me what DJ-ing is all about? If you can please don't post like I know what your talking about because obviously I don't.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger...then it hit me!

a dj is a master of speed control. a dj takes two records gets them at the exact same speed so that the thumps are "hitting together"the speed a record is played at is called bpm or beats per minute.there is a thing on the turntable that is a movable bar called a pitch shifter this changes the speed to speed up or slow down a record till the beats thump together
A synthisyzer is a machine that creates a sound that is traditonally like a melody there are three types I can think of and they are a computer synth which is a computer program and a keyboard synth which is piono keyboard
and a synthbox which is a box similar to the computer program.synths are usally used in conjunction with drum machines to do "live pa's"(ie. live electronic performance) these are alot more rare than turntable performances but they are a lot of fun hope I shed some light on the main room for ya:)

Yeah it was pretty well explained , Except the Dj bit wasnt explained to well .You basicly explained mixing and not Djing general ,A Dj is short for "disc jockey" And is not necessarily about mixing ,Just in general playing songs/tunes for a crowd.(That was'nt explained to well ,but is my view.)

allright your second question was hows it made
certain computers have different programs but most electronica is made on computer
im not as expierienced in this as djing but i will try
sequencers are one type of program that is very widely used. With this you take your sounds (downloaded or from any other sound sources)and arrange them into bat dat da the same basic structure as classical music you find your own drums your own basslines your own synths and organize them like as if you were playing each instrument . This is called production although its more like a symphonic composer.If you feel you need to learn more buy a copy of fruity loops its a sequencer that is easy to use and has a full tutorial
This music after its finished is pressed onto records and sold at record stores .
I know its not very much info but I hope it helps and YOU now know more than your average raver on the subject

A couple of days ago on t.v. I saw this box?connect to a keyboard. It had like these small square pads/buttons. The person was tapping on them and each made a different sound. It lookes really cool and interesting, can anyone tell me what it's called?

DJ's (disc jockeys)
get their favourite (or your favorite more likely) songs on records and play them. they then do what hy5 said with their records so that it makes one continouos 'mix' out of lots of songs

Hire the movie "luke and perry go large" and it will show you so of the kinda stuff u have to go thu to get attention after learning to dj, even thu its a brittish comedy movie
