Slammin Vinyl NYE - How was it for you? it was first time to the Sanctuary, the Hardcore arena was fastrack to heaven, music was blinding. Favourite sets were Styles and Sy. Storm you're a ****in' legend. People were outstanding - friendly, full of smiles and energy, even though some didn't get in till after midnight.

A Also gold stars to the medical people, best of anywhere I've been. Everyone was so happy, in the teeth of hypothermia, a privilege to have been a part of it.

deff agree with you there mate, the whole thing was great and storm was on top form! i didnt see much of whizzkid though was he also booked at another event? later on in the eve i walked into the force & styles b2b set and was faced with an empty room!!! what happened there!? styles made up 4 it with a blinder in the main hardcore arena though..... oh, and also, in my opinion scott brown couldnt have picked a better tune to drop at midnight

I was a bit pissed off about the line at first (it was truely unreal), but I got in time for the countdown and Scott Brown which completely blew me away. Plus hot dancing girls (that know the lyrics to hardcore songs!) and there were so many great DJs. I couldn't stay mad after that, but I did miss Brisk because of the line.

<rant>I have to say it, I do give respect to Slammin' for putting on these events for us, but that line was really insane. When I first was on it I thought "It's not the worst I've been on, but in the top 5," but by the time I was almost inside I realized "This is by far the worst line I've ever been on for sure." Sorry, but when you pay that kind of money and come all the way across an ocean for a party you shouldn't be expected to wait in the cold for 3 hours.

Why search everyone anyway? Every kid there was messed up as Hell besides a few I think, the drugs got in anyway. I think they shouldn't have searched every person, it was really out of hand. </rant>

Hehe, calm down mate, we're all a bit pissed at Slammin' for the line. I agree with a lot of what you're feeling though, security is one of the cheapest costs in any event and that line would have moved twice as fast if they had twice the people checking the door for peak hours (I'd say between 8 and 12)..this would cost less than their profits from 100 tickets and we all know there were probably almost 10000 kids there so this wouldn't have been a big deal and everyone wouldn't be pissed off at them now. 15-30 minutes = good. 1 hour = acceptable, but annoying. 2-3 hours = torturous.

the thing that took the piss was that after 2 & 1/2 hrs i got to the front of the que, crossed the road, walked through the railings and then walked straight through the search tent without even having to empty my pockets! i looked at a security guard that was free and he just waved me on through, as did a second one... crazy

i think the rest of the night was great but i really hope someone up on high is reading these posts because this is the kind of thing that could really damage the ravers' response to future events at the sanctuary.

That's straight crazy, why didn't they just wave people throught the whole time I wonder.

Is the security taken care of by the Sanctuary or by Slammin' Vinyl? I would think the event organizers would be the ones to take care of that at an event like this, but I could be wrong. Oh well, I know I won't be going back there anytime soon. Would if I could, but it's a long swim.
