i was just thinkin about my 1st deks just wonderin wot other people started with

i have had 3 pairs ofn deks so far,

1. pro 150's (belt driven)
2.citronic pd1 (direct drive)
3.technics (mark 3) direct)

i started on belt drive decks gemini 'n' cirtronic(cant remember model names)
but it dint show much i then saw a dj quite often at a nite n he offered me his direct drives
but it was well worth the wait

I started with a pair of gemini sa 600s and they were actually pretty good. I got myself my TTx1 s within 6 months though.

i started on a pair of JBS1110's way back in 97 and seriously pounded them to shreds until they finally collapsed about a year ago..and then i bought my TTX1's. havent looked back since :)

I had some absolutely dreadful Sanyo hi-fi turntables with this crappy rotary pitch wheel on that only worked when it felt like it!

In the 15 years inbetween i've had

Goodmans (equally shit)
Soundlab
Citronic
Sony (still have)
Technics (still have)

i'm just starting out and getting my 1st set of decks in a few days..... they're belt driven Numark TT02's .... wanna upgrade as soon as i know DJ'ings what i wanna do and i can get the cash together though! get some direct drive's cos apparenrtly the difference is huge!

im getting my 1st decks in a couple of months and im gona go rite ahed and by directs coz i hav always been told by m8s (and n e1 who seems to nah owt about djing) that basically....belt drives R SHIT!!! Not gonna splash out loads, ill probably just get that numark Battle pak (mainly coz its the cheapest direct package iv seen!!!). once iv sussed out djing properly ill upgrade to sum TTX1's or technics.

Technics SL-1210MK2s (direct drive).......got 'em off ebay as a package. They came with Stanton 505 Scratch Needles, Gemini PS-676 Pro mixer and nicely tucked inside an Odyssey coffin case. The guy even threw in some records and a record bag......what a deal!!!!

Got my CITRONIC PD1s about 2 and a half years ago and am still using them. Getting a loan to upgrade to the TTX1/DJM600 package in the summer though WOOHOOOOO

started gemini xl 100's belt drives with a pitch slider --------------- about that long. they finally wore out on me after a year of use. got one gemini pt 2100 and nothing else. not being able to mix sucks :(
