This is just a question that ive thought about recently. Im lookin at the lineups or events and see that theres always hixxy, styles, and breeze. THe point im gettin at is a yr ago you could listen to any of those 3 and the set would be almost brand new. But now not just them each set is virtually the same for every one. Scott Brown always seems to have the same too but in a different order. Its seems to be like in 2000 where eye opener was played about 6-8 times a night. This seems to signal the slowing of the music coming out. I could be wrong. Let me know

well, personally i have been the prophet of doom all along, saying that because Hardcore took the trancey edge...its gonna go the same way as trance, all start sounding oddly the same, and not as much originality.
of course, theres gonna be one or two that stand out, but if the musics loosing it a bit, im not surprised, it needs another injection of new'ness.
im sure when Bonkers 12 hits the scene people will go either "ugh, heard all this before" or "wow, they did think of something new, yay"
"bring the hardest paddle you can find, and get ready to be spanked, you dirty dirty pigs.....yes yes?"

i do feel alot of the big events have the same line ups and dont give the new talent much of a chnance. this is why you prob feel hardcore is goin down and all sounding trancy. theres a helll of alot of new hardcore gettin made but as most ppl only go to thge big events and only see the same big djs they will only hear the same big choons.
there are same great new labels such as camel, raw elements, destructive force, uprising, rfu, elation etc that do not all make trancy hardcore. most of this stuff can be heard at the smaller raves and with enuff suport them events can grow bigger and thus so will the artists and the choons will get heard to alot more wider audience.

you've got to think about the possibilities.... to make new music not only do you need a bit of talent but you need something that people haven't heard.... thats is where the problem is.... it's getting harder to make new stuff...
So i do agree we need an injection of new but who's gonna provide??

I do agree with this quite strongly.. the last lot of events ive been to have all played the same kind of stuff. the DJs need to play different sets with different themes. Slipmatt usually plays somthing different but it tends to be old skool. Hixxy, Styles etc.. need to play some different stuff like one do a trancy set one do a happy bouncy set etc... not play the same set over and over..
Its a hardcore thing

i dont fink the likes of hizzy, styles n breeze dougal etc should stop making the trancy stuff. they do it better than no other and its working rite now so shouldnt stop. it should be the big promoters who should also book other djs who make and play other stuff
luna c, ham or robbie long all quite big names but dont get booked enuff. all play the sort of new breakbeaty stuff
devestate, mark smith, storm all play the harder darker stuff but dont get booked enuff
all the new ravey sounds that ppl like uplift, hb n ponder and clsm play doesnt get played enuff as th4e ppl playing and making that sort of stuff are not gettin the big bookings that would mean loads more ppl hearing that kind of music

I just listened to The NU Breed....it seems all too melloncolly, but thats what you get from buyin cd's mixed by trancy artists.
Has every promotor 4got SY, Sharkey, Mark Smith, Kev NRG etc. etc
I like the trancy stuff but they could vary who the book every now and again, i say the same for the MC's, too much Smiley could kill a man. (although he is a good MC, ordinary people can start to get on yer nerves.)
I think constant variation/rotation is the key! its just a shame the Cd's dont show the full flavour of hardcore.
oh s*it man, what was i saying?

yeah, i personally reckon each genre of the hardcore is great in its own right but recently the trancified stuff has been blasted a little too much especially as its getting a let of general attention from commercial tv, shops, clubs, etc... they neednt stop producing it as it is good and the scene getting more money and attention isnt ALWAYS a bad thing!! they just need to remember their roots, and as mrc said, rotate a little!!

Its a pity many of them dont....
Its a bit annoying..I bought USH3 Yesterday... With half the songs the same as Bonkers X1(Minus the 3rd disc)...
So Dougal ,Styles ,Hixxy Play the same stuff????
Time to get Some Up N coming's that will play H-A-R-D-C-O-R-E ...I dont mind trancy hardcore but most of it is getting to trancy...I think in 2000 Whatever They Just jumped to an easyish style of music to produce (Trance) and made trancey hardcore....Thats my 5 minute theory which is aload of pooo
And i realise i have went off topic...But never mind that

I think some VERY interesting turning points will soon happen within the scene.

Personally. I love the trancy stuff even though I hate all trance (execept some vocal.) But I also realize that hardcore needs more than just one sound to it. This might not make sence but I think that trancy hardcore is trancier than trance
*pionts to "Castles in the Sky" - Ian van Dahl and "Castles" - Hixxy and UFO.*
I really wish the bouncy stuff like force & Styles would come back too though. But the trancy stuff is still my favorite style of hardcore.
LONG LIVE HIXXY & STYLES
