I think a lot of artists follow if you like to say; a recipe for a sucessful product
for example;
Breeze and Styles - Trancy with either female vocals (You're shining, home) or public service announcement style samples (to the dancefloor, total xtc? i'm not too sure if that counts --- my mind has gone blank.... but i'm sure there are other examples) What has proved true for years is that most people like a cheeky sample here and there.
Scott Brown - hundreds of track under different names , someone else had a far better explanation of this but here's my explanation-
pounding beats + rap samples + obscure europop song breakdown or piano riffs + more rap samples + beats (repeat and serve to create a good track)
Dougal + Gammer - explain it themselves on the first hardcore heaven dvd, the idea of sticking to what works, yet staying original in equal measure
also many samples that are created by artists are solely used by them, i'm sorry that I lack in depth knowledge of music production and i know this is a crap explanation, because I do not know the correct terms. but I hope it helps

Don't Want You destroys Future Set! It's actually not that uncommon for multiple hardcore artists to cover/remix the same trance tune but Future Set was an original trance production from B&S under a different alias before they made it hardcore, not some random third party
