you should never be charged for signing to an agency and then get nothing,they don't have any dj's on their list apparantly. interesting read tho,mostly applying to the uk....

Have been mailing boards like this and mailing lists all over. You get an email asking you to call them 'regarding bookings'. Its a PREMIUM RATE NUMBER at 1.50 PER MINUTE!. Then you have to ring the number to get a applicaiton pack 'which will arrive within 14 days' and DEMO'S ONLY ACCEPTED WITH A VISION APPLICATION PACK. Why?

This really got my back up:
'All you have to do to enroll is send your demo of you mixing (Does not matter if its a bedroom mix, we only look at the talent underneath all the hype!!) Along with your demo you will need to send a £10.00 postal order or cheque made payable to K Gracie as this pays for the intial costs of the admin which is fully re-embersed to you once all paperwork has been finalised'
This is EXACTLY the same as a modelling agency scam I saw on TV recently. What admin costs? What a joke!
Also:
'At Vision we have a large database of DJ's on our books to look after and this is no small feet as promotional work is always being needed especially in this ever changing sector'
Oh yeah? Which ones? No list of DJs on their books there.

Well, there really is no proof that this is a scam, maybe someone who been rejected is really mad and spreading rumors about them.
Anyway, scam or not, I don't think anyone will give it a try after this "story".
