i think it has to be a slow change. If you upped and changed over night then i think people would walk!. I (personally entitled to my own taste) like the somewhere between trancy/hard/bouncy style music and i like the evolution of that style. However i dont think you can change the overall style eg trancy to breakbeat(which i hear a lot of) because they are totally different in my opinion

Why does everyone around here dis breakbeat hardcore? Personally, I prefer it to the 4/4 stuff... Or at least a fair balance of 4/4 and breakbeat like in the old days. Breakbeat was the beginning of hardcore, and people who say they will walk out of the room if they hear breakbeat are not proper ravers.

i wasnt dissing it. I was saying that if there is a sudden change people couldnt take it in. Not necessarily Breakbeat i mean any different style.

Hi,

the paino motif mainly,i say mainly stays with breakbeat hardcore(ever heard a luna-c track without piano!?), whereas the evolution of 4/4 is definalty trance orienatated,i dont think its best too merge styles from different years/fashions because a lot of that can sound diluted.....

top of the heap..

future primitive(beakbeat hardcore)

dougal & gammer(hardcore trance)

regards pre.....

Not to be a rude wank or anything, but the 1995/1996 style of hardcore, which IMO was the best era for HHC, mixed 4/4s and breakbeat very successfully.. So I dunno what you're talking about it not being good to merge styles.

i dont like the way its going, bu ive learnt to accept it...if only people didnt flame dna maybe it could have evolved to more of a breakbeat sound

Yeah I agree. DNA had his head about him at the time. It's a shame what happened. Hardcore was never the same.

On a different note, there is a fairly large oldskool revival moving about in the shadows right now. Keep your eyes on http://www.breakbeathardcore.com in the next few weeks. Something's going on there.

If i hear to much of the same style in 1 mix, its gets way repetative and boring. To me, i love to mix styles a lot. Like ill play a freeform or dark song into a super happi or moderatly cheese song and vis versa. Also haveing diff styles of the same years, or whatever. It makes things lots more exciting IMO ^_^

yeah i often use different styles but i dont go as mad as mixing heart of gold with some neophyte tracks or something. Ill keep it trancey but do some hard stuff, maybe some gabber, some uplifting stuff, and some generally cheesey trance like the new remix of sunshine :) (not that i own it of course, heh)
