Hey folks. Took me long enough to post here, I guess.. I've got a new-ish tune up that I'm looking into releasing with someone, somewhere. Not sure who yet.

Anyway, here's a link to it. Lemme know what you think.

http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=350308&T=1833

If you have any advice on who to contact about publication, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I'm rather new at this and I haven't got my foot in the door yet.

Peace.
AX

Yeah tis good...Couple of tips..By the sound of it i can hear reverb on kick & bass..You shouldnt do that as it ruin's the mixdown...2nd. Its best to follow the rules of arrangement/structure..(Just percussion upto 32 bars, then bass from there on and main synth or sub synth building up whatever...But the percussion only upto 32 bar's is vital for mixing in...Get some rides on the kicks(At a low volume)...Imo you should keep the riff till after the breakdown...Or add something else after as i prefer it if you keep the good bit after the breakdown or in the breakdown..It keeps you waiting..Its pretty good i must say ,Theres a note in the breakdown riff i dont think sounds to good....I give it 9/10 :) Was put together well Except for the first pointers i gave :)...Good luck oh and...I wouldnt advise letting people download your song for free if you want it to get released :) ....Good luck!

Rules of structure??????????

Im not sure there is sucha thing.

And you dont have to wait 32 bars to bring in the bass or a synth. Evo and quosh tunes do after 16 and theres a lot of tunes out there that have a bass in right from the start so i dont think thats really a problem.

lol,Well i dont know about rules of structure? But thats based on what I've been told..I suppose it is a rule of structure...The whole point of waiting 32 bar's for the bass to come in is for you to be able to mix it in easy...right?

Well..I wasnt putting his tune down...I was giving him valuable pointers. And feedback!

I know exactly what you mean. It definately makes it better to mix without clashing out of tone. But i just meant to say thats its obviously not a rule as there are a lot of tunes that dont do this,.

LOL make a tune the way u want it to sound, if it makes it easier to mix in thats a bonus, but none of my tunes start wit just percussion, sounds too empty, and imo most of the tunes i own start wit a kick, closed hat, bassline, fx etc, :) but then again i produce trance/hard trance but there is really much difference in structure or stuff ya know

Do you want it pressed for yourself or like a release?

I took down the mp3. Not a whole lot of people downloaded it, so I'm not too worried about that. I sent a demo of it to Nu Energy, but I think it's not their style so I dunno where to send it? What are some good labels that I should look into?

There are no rules, that's the good thing, it just makes things easier if you have a 32/16 bar intro :)
