I just got a shippment of makina tracks, all of them has really nice cover art and all of them has an inner paper sleeve to protect the record.
What's up with that? Why are the uk releases's sleeves so boring? Raverbabys new ones might be cool but they all look the same. Are the uk producers just cheap?

some of scott brown's picture disks are pretty cool as well  most of the lables seem to have the same cover's that they use on all their releases, it'd be cool to see a bit more imagination though!

picture disks can cost up to double the price to press, hence stunting profits. Uk hardcores lost the love, some places use the same artwork over and over. It aint hard to get some 12 year old to do you a sleeve and then get it pressed for like 30p more per unit.

We're all after the "inside" (ie records) but hell a good looking outside doesnt make anyone sad.
And what about the inner protective sleeves, why dont we get any of them with our hardcore releases? Cause the publisher must want their records to last dont they?

the UK Producers aint "cheap"
its the fact makina sells thousands and thousands of units over in spain, UK hardcore doesnt sell as much as it should do, i wish it would! but it doesnt, and because of that, we have to keep our costs as low so we can still keep doing releases. to do an individual cover for each record.. and have a sleve inside, you have to be selling close to 3000 to make it cost effective
Most uk labels are doing 1/6th of that

Agree with dave that it's all about the tune but as i'm in2 makina hav picked up lotsa good pic discs along the way- fav 1 buenri vs Ruboy "Curare" plus Hangar most wanted have a cool pic disk of the bit music sign.
