the new release from EP is very dissapointing..
i cannot stand for the life of me male vocals(bring me round too love/pretty green eyes) too name but two,it just doesn't work,why do i hate it? because it sounds very gay indeed,female vocals have always been the norm..

I personally LOVE Stefan Booth's voice. It's really very amazing. I normally don't like male vocalists but Stefan is one AWESOME singer. Keep singing those tracks!!

Tbh...I was'nt impressed with "fell from the stars" Doesnt sound right imo...But "Bring me round to love" etc sound good imo.

you should see the reaction of the ravers to that! WOW
and when I used to MC I did a singalong with the ravers one night to a load of force n styles choonz like pretty green eyes etc and the ravers loved it and I was buzzzzzzzin'
they do work for some. but when I very first started getting choonz with male vocals I thought the same, but I guess they grew on me and after seeing reactions like above, I wouldn't think twice about slamming a load into my sets..

stephen booth is great, altho I don't reckon the vox on "fell from the stars" match up the other tracks I've heard him in.
Tis still pretty good tho and the tune behind it is nice :)

Not the best vocal i've ever heard but i still regard the tune as one of my current favourites.
Nothing wrong with male vocals as such but they do need to be good to work well.
Pleasure & Pain remix anyone?

yes I was referring to the stuff he's done w/ CLSM, IE Liberation, Drifting Away, Free Your Mind etc
There are quite a few tunes w/ male vox that I like, some of which have been mentioned already ( Pretty Green Eyes, Product of Society ( F&S remix ) ) particuarly "hands to heaven" and "show me love" which are both feat Dave Jay, the guy who did the vox in Pleasure & Pain.
And let's not exclude the genius rap section in "Sensory Vison" done by Tekneek, which are probably the best lyrics in any hardcore tune. In my not so humble opinion of course ;)

Most annoying song with male vocal's has to be "Free again" By Re-con & Flux...(If i remember correctly)....I dont like this tune at all really...The main vocals are annoying..I think it could have been a much better song with different vocals and a different melody :)

male vocals can be cool, check "UR everything" - Helix feat. Marlon & becks. And I think the vocals of pretty green eyez are good aswell.

Surprisingly I actually really like free again. Hated it at first but its really grown on me.
As for the male vox... well at first I wasnt really all for it, but the more I hear the more i'm liking them, I recon stefan had an off day on fell form the stars, its a bit pants, but liberation has an amazing rushy vocal.
Pleasure and pain - amazing male vox.
Sparkey - velvet heaven, great job.
My mum has always said she prefers male vocals in hardcore tunes (from all the way back) and I always said womens are better. tbh its nice to have a bit of variation. It seems that you can get any old girl to do a vocal and it will sound ok but you have to be really carefull if you get a male vocal, ie. it has to be spot on or it'll sound shite.
Talking of great vocals... Claire Dangerfield on Soundscape - Someday soon. She has such a beautiful voice it brings tears to my eyes (you poof!  ) I think she's amazing, anybody know any other tunes thats she's sung on?

Female vocals = happy, fun and work best with love songs. (EyeOpener, Stay Here Forever, Hardcore Hustler)
Male vocals = more serious and dark and are probably better off being used as samples. (Lost Boy, Prince of Darkness)
quick DJ tip #38 - When you switch a 45 with female vocals to 33, it sounds like a male's voice.
