Sup Y'allz,
So im ditching the Bay Area for a week and heading down to Tokyo (March 27 till april 3rd during the day). Ill be keeping my eyes peeled for a Hardcore event but its a long shot.
Do any clubs or anything play hardcore? If not are there any clubs or places I should hit? Im pretty open minded musically.
Where can I go to go digging? Ill be mostly looking for hardcore but again I am really open to take a look at other Japanese music on CD or vinyl. I really want to find some Shrapnel Sound cds and see what else is out there. How much does vinyl go for out there(in yen)? I know cds are a lil spendy. Also if I plan to hit any used shops should I bring LPs from the states to trade? It would only be old to rare hip hop but I heard somewhere that I could get a bit for it out there. So far the only thing I know that Im doing thats music related is some special Sony Music that we are hooked up with. 
Two last questions.  For gifts for people/contacts is there anything thats hard or expensive to get in Japan that I could bring from the states? A co-worker said Jack Daniels goes over well while I was thinking Cali wine (someone else said cigs?? wha)
Last thing is if anyone has any contacts out there in the CG/VFX/Animation/Games or art schools over there please PM me. Ive worked on some large scale/well known projects and I just want to see what things are like over there in those fields.

Yeah I would of hit up a Yoji show but I guess it looks like he a had a big push in Japan in Feb. All of his dates for March and such are listed as him playing Europe. So I just missed out. :(

I checked out the http://www.happydynamite.com/ website and I will be there. Ill just need to print out the map and get the hotel people to help me get to Code.

I am doing an event on the night of the 3rd April but I think your leaving that day, other than that check out Happy Dynamite like my friend Euto said, it's long running party and it"s very "Happy" hardcore ....
Vinyl stores, I would not bother, Japan has alot of vinyl already.
Stores for Sharpnel are gonna be a little hard resently he had to recall all his product... but there are a few select stores that might have something that I might be able to show you if your around.
