why o why carnt they just acept it, im a reaver ona ****in drug adict
i hate the fact that because i listen to hardcore
and sum bangin tunes that people seam to think ur a f-in nutter and a drug adict
i dont even smoke!
any 1 esle got the same prob!?

yeah I got labeled a druggie when I got into the scene
I was only bout 11 years old. my older sister 21 at the time started on at me about it, so I got a see through bag filled it with talc powder walked past her with it and shouted to me mate come on we've gotta snort this before we get caught with it... and ran off laughing... stupid bee-aarrrch < got her good n proper lol
so yeah, but this scene and drugs kinda go hand in hand to a point and has been associated with each other since day 1.
but its no different to the 60s people getting mashed up on stuff... and most other music has drug users with it, its just cus our stuff is faster than "the norm" and lighweights can't keep the pace / dont understand it - so we get labeled.

Yeah, I can remember when I met this bloke and he asked what sort of music I was in to. When I said hardcore he said "Oh yeah, music to get wrecked to". I think drugs are a part of some ravers experience but it doesn't mean they're addicts and use them all the time and no , not everyone is on drugs at raves, people are just ignorant.

Anyone who hasn't had that problem is well lucky, cos I get it pretty much everywhere I go - people saying yes I am a druggie, yes I am a pill popper.
Grrrrrr why can't people be more open minded??

unfortunately thats life.... cant get away from it, i put it down to lack of education (not school but about the scene). I think if people knew what actually went on, or even experienced it. I think ill write a book!

unfortunately that is the case... but have a think about it though; who are the people that brand us like this? the ones that aren't into the scene. They fear what they do not know i tells ya!!! anyway coz they aren't involved in the scene they don't get to see both sides of the story; only the side that is printed off and broadcast to the world.
Ur not alone on this one. This is the sort of thing that just makes me wanna be more hardcore; so i can just tell those ****ing pop tune listening bastards to shove their views where the sun don't shine. pisses all us hardcore heads off mate.
If u want more proof of that then the easiest way to show ya is to tell ya to listen to the tune Ordinary People. I know a load of you out there that have heard that tune will know what i mean. Don't worry about'em mate, just keep on raving - Hardcore Forever

my favourite genres of music are, on the rock side of things, punk, and on the electronic side things, hardcore and drum and bass. All genres associated with rebellion in some form, whether it be anarchy or hugging strangers... and drug use is considered to be part of that rebellion.
Ever since I began to listen to music that was not the usual spice girls family friendly stale pop music (rap and r'n'b was still uncool then!) my mum has always accused of either drinking (well, did she gave up and let me drink at 14, she's nice in some ways about stuff!) smoking or taking drugs, but i think that coincides with the fact that at the time i had gone from young child to teenager, and you first turn 13 you tend to break rules a lot more!
But no matter what age you are, Hardcore will always have the stereotypes, because of some of us out there actually fit in with them!
