I agree with you re: Hardcore. When I bought the vinyl and listened it wasn't like the version I had heard on cd compliations at all, but I still like it.
I happen to like the euphoric vocals Scott Brown incoporates into his tracks, that's what makes them different.
Hixxy is doing a mad job with Raver Baby, it's not easy...
I own a few songs on cd which sound different on vinyl, it's just the way it is.
Will not compromise quality for popularity amongst the minority.

Yes UFOs "Hardcore" is different to the version on Bonkers. It doesn't sound as loud and as powerful and some of the piano is different. Perhaps it's a question of knowing when to stop working on a track?
In my opinion it doesn't sound as good but is worth buying nevertheless.

i haven't been impressed by that ufo vinyl. considering the epic that was breaka and the generally very high standard of his previous work, 21 sounds to me like someone trying to do UFO's style. if it's the way he wants his music to go then fair play.
im becoming increasingly bored of raver baby however, i think as a label it needs some new tricks. couldnt put my finger on why RBs boring me and evolution isn't (same track layout almost beat for beat for a while), probably because scott writes better choons (IMO)
production wise, next gen/BB have the right idea (IMO) i find much of RB's recent catalogue lacking in energy over the whole track. i personally feel hardcore needs chaotic energy to it, and i think RB are letting that slip more and more. theyve never been a hectic label, but this overproduced material lacks an essential aprt of what hardcore is for me.
and i am a producer now so i know how damn sodding effing hard it is to make choons sound right but as of yet i havent set a benchmark by which other hardcore can be judged.
in summation: no music is ever wholly bad, there's always a reason to listen to it.

You all make good points
With all music some poeple like it and other poeple dont. Thats what makes it what it is.
Personally i think UFO's "Hardcore" vinyl version lacks bite that makes a good track into a great track.
As For vocals if done tastefully as scott brown successfully does, adds something different to work with. Especially in I Became Hardcore = geniusness
As for the labeling it just gives you the shits, something that should be so simple, but i hav no expirence in running a record label so what the hell do I know

I thought it was a good record my self. But people have different tates. I certaintly liked it. But if you dont like it dont buy it, because there are people who do like it (aka = me) and enjoy it.
Did you try to listen to a sample before you bought it??

I think the Bonkers X version of "UFO - Hardcore" was incredible. The released version is just dissapointing, however I find it still to be a good song. It feels like something is missing from it though. You just shouldn't change tracks before release.

A follow-up to my last post. I think every record label should be doing what evolution records is doing. Releasing the other version of songs that you've heard, and may like better, on mp3 on their sites. That way you're happy, and if you have a cdj, you're in heaven.

from what i see in this genre in music; i think that as a dj, producer, or artist a person can find ways to manipulate, remix, mix and edit the tracks they have to there liking and make their sets there own way with there own samples and ideas. That is what really makes the music go round; the constant desire to let the music flow from your mind to your ears.
Anyways i also agree that if you dont like the track, dont purchase it cause buiying records for most people is expensive.
There are so many versions of songs out there its just hard to find what you want so take the time to pick out what you want to listen to
As for the record quality the labels should find a presser that can make cleaner more consistant records, thats my sense, peace and have a happyhardcore day everyone. :):):):):):):):)

Yeah i do agree that the tracks produced on vinyl seem to be alot different on CD, exactly like you said DjTriquatra, with the bass being different from the vinyl to the CD.
I have no idea why it sounds different

Why is everyone making such a huge fuss? It's EXTREAMLY pointless to make a big deal of of somthing you don't have any control over. If you dont like the track. don't buy it, it is that simple. There is nothing wrong with the releases. And if you want the old make the beat drop go to the evolution online store they are selling the mp3 of the no vocal edit.
Don't fuss about somthing you cant control thats all im going to say.
