Hardcore was a big part of growing up in glasgow for me. To be honest cant imagine the place without it, although before i moved down south a lotta the younger folk where listenin 2 really shitty cheesy dance beats. Spose theres only ever so many people in2 anythin rest just follow the crowd. To capone 13 good 2 c another another raver in2 spanish, has that kikd off properly up there yet, becos evry time i dj'd it to people evry1 loved it got crackin response. Also started hearin other people gettin bits and bobs although most didnt no it was makina was jus hardcore to them. Always thought it would kik off big especially up glasgow becos bouncy hardcore was by far most popular style up there, people were sick of same old anthems after a while. Been takin a big interest in Dj Haston recently, crackin 2 hear a scottish dj as good at BCN as the spanish i think he's most underrated dj in britain. never seems to play any gigs in scotland jus north east england though, i always found it strange makina never took off more north of the border as it did in the North east. Anyway jus 2 add cant beat atmosphere's at raves in scotland. I now only live 1 train from the sanctuary so have a lot better choice of events + love the new u.k sound at minute, and i was 2 young 2 attend a lot of scotlands biggest raves. But events like twisted, rave rezerection, scotland vs england (first time i heard makina) and european techno heaven had somethin special about them for me. Best ever memory from my raving has 2 be seein dye witness live at barrowlands talk about up 4 it crowd never seen nothin like it. Will b checkin out events for next coupla months make a visit back up see m8s hopefully get a rave to go to.
