hi everyone, me again sorry.
this time i need some advice from you all about a product i'm trying to buy on ebay. The tune is 99 red balloons and is apparently in pretty good nick. now i said to the fella i'm prepared to give a one off lump sum to ensure i get it, and he e mailed me back saying he's seen it go on there for a massive amount before (which does not surprise me) but what i want to know is, what do you think would be a reasonable price to pay for this tune without being totally ripped off?
thanks everyone!
p.s. the auction ends in 1 day and about 18 hours from time of writing this message... 9 45 GMT.
If pac-man really had an effect on us, we'd all be runnin' round in dark rooms, listening to repetitive music and munching pills!!!

Definitely one of those tunes where the value far exceeds the quality!
There does tend to be quite a few copies on ebay despite the rarity and like Dave said - don't even think about getting one for under £30-40.

i agree DMs price over quality does seem to be the case here thats y i thought i'd get other opinions first. he just sent me an e mail saying the following: -
I cant name a price because i have seen this record go for over
£100 and at other times go for £50 - £70. So I really couldn't say! What
are you willing to pay? If we can come to some kind of agreement i will
take it off ebay and its your :0)
thats what it said. He probably gonna screw me over if he sees this post should he be a member of hhc.com.
anyway though in all seriousness what would you guys pay for it if you were in my position ( the thing is as well i think it would be a class present to get my bro for his up coming birthday ) so i think it would be fair to go for about 35 40 first then see what he says and take it from there. What you think fellas?
and dave i haven't made an offer for it yet although on ebay i am currently winning the bid at £17.99 although i'm sure it'll go up.
As for our own dealing for a price i haven't actually made an offer yet.
appreciate the advice by the way guys.

Ok well basically say anything Under £30 is a steal for that tune.
Also check that the ebay guy is a worthwhile seller and not a rip off

To be honest, I wouldn't pay much for it because it i'm not a big fan of the tune (might be tempted if it was cheap just to sell it on).
If i DID want it badly, i'd go up to about £40 and no more - but that's just me, there's nothing i'd want so badly that i'd start chucking silly bids about!
I must admit that there are 4 or 5 tunes that i'd consider paying big money for if they ever came up for sale so it would be interesting to see if i would practice what i preach!
At the end of the day it comes down to paying what a tune is worth to you, and i would never say "don't bid more than...." because it's not for me to say.
Good luck anyway mate!

Well i only paid £20 for the Scott Brown & Brisk tune - Catch You, which was well worth it. Though some people go to some lengths (as in pay a fortune) to get that record

I would just be worried that the record might be in pieces like the last two I got from e-bay.The question is how much will you pay for a tune that might be in half by the time you get it really.
does zoloft backwards really spell land of oz.

If you pay over £20 for one record, you'll know if it's worth it by going to e.g. this sites store. Add other records you want for the same price. After that, you can think if it's better then the other +6 records you want. Also ppl ask stupid prices for some records just because ppl are going to pay stupid prices.
I've seen Critical Mass "Burnin Love" single been sold for 40$, i bought it with 0.80€. Sylver's special edition release of "Chances" album sold for 130€, i bought it new for 20€. So do a little search before you buy it.
Also you can buy a CD that has it, overplay it, after that your bored to it and dont want to buy it anymore, £20 saved ;)
