I just wondered if anyone agreed with me that a lot of DJ's nowadays (no offence meant to them) don't build up sets like they used to? It seems as though so many of them just bang in the big tunes all throughout their sets, and don't pay much attention to really building up a set and taking it places. They also seem to bang the big one's in when they're doing a very early set. It kinda brings u up too early if ya know what I mean ;o) Or doesn't at all cos your not expecting it...

no mate, don't worry i know exactly what you mean; its true you find that 20 minutes after you get in they are already baggin out the biggest and fastest etc. when really you need some warm up tunes first. i know what you mean, and i agree but as you say it isn't true of all DJ's that this is the case.
If pac-man really had an effect on us, we'd all be runnin' round in dark rooms, listening to repetitive music and munching pills!!!

I've been thinking about that, what's good hardcore tunes for warm up tho? I mean, they're all fast and uplifting! Some dnb maybe?

When I do sets I tend to start of with something evil, or light such as 'Terrabeat' (evil), or 'Total XTC' (Light). Then I build up to some heavier and pacey stuff (CLSM, Dougal and Gammer), then blend it into uplifting and trancey stuff to finish the set off on a high. But dnb aint gonna fit in! Hardcore all the way mate!

How about starting with some Hard Hard Trance (I meant to repeat Hard by the way!) then building up into some less vocal, more melodic Hardcore
