Hip-Hop samples have always been used in hardcore, It's probably because there the easiest thing to get a hold of that doesn't need a lot of filtering to get just the vocal and not the actual music.

yeah, they have been used for ages. want to get a dancefloor goin, mix some hip hop into your set and see what happens. people love it, then you controll the samples so they aren't shite.

Many rap vinyls have instrumentals on one side and acapellas on the other, so it is a lot easier to sample the vocals

rap samples go off on hardcore tracks. imagine a robbie long track without them. wouldn't be the same at all. it would be like a dj sy set without scratching.

Exactly.
Same as most things - some sound good, some not so good.
I don't believe anybody can seriously say ALL rap samples are crap - many of my favourite tunes have been made better by such samples.

DMS, i see what ya mean mate, but tbh i'm seriously yet to find one that i actually have enjoyed. the thing is though generally i hate rap and hip hop as it is, so usually when i hear a hardcore track with samples from them in the song, if i'm honest, i don't usually give them the time of day, coz tey just annoy me.
care to make any recommendations of the better tunes?

Listen to a good DJ Producer tape for some decent hip hop samples.

forget hiphop samples, if you don't like them, choose songs that don't have them. you don't need them, they just give it a rugged feel. like chase by scott brown, would the intro be as cool if it did't have that sample though? or 24 track on NGR, hip hop. flip flop flava on blatant beats, hip hop. Hardcore from 92-2004, hiphop. can't escape it. Listen to it on a grand scale, what do the samples add to the track, not a biased opinion that hip hop is crap. Say some of the lyrics to hardcore songs with out music or harmony out loud to someone else though and you will notice that those on the other hand are where the nonsens and somethimes shite lies. don't carry biases when listening to a track right away, granted, being a dj, first play what sounds good to you, but remember, you are playing for others and they may want to hear some hiphop sometimes too.

well if that were the case and that was important to me i'd dj for house and garage clubs.
the point in flyers is so people know where your djing, who it is, and most importantly WHAT MUSIC YOU WILL BE PLAYING!!!
if people don't like hardcore, no one's gonna force them to go, so really i think it should be more about the style of hardcore that you choose to play that should get the crowd going, not have the crowd dictate a dj's set.

If you like hip-hop samples in hardcore tracks go to the babyboom records website and listen to the stream of "here it comes". I think the stream is on www.dj-viper.com. I ****ing love that tune. mixing hardcore with DMX vocals. I have been trying to buy it and cant find it anywhere.

ever heard "the world is mine" by tommyknocker? practicly the entire song is Rapped on ad it sounds soooooo sweet.
also, the "rap" piece in "stay focused" by endymion and nosferatu is wicked. Goes for a lot of songs.
And yes, the vocals in "here it comes" rock.
