does anybody else get irritated with the fact that:
"Clubland Xtreme 2" got Breeze & Styles - Heartbeatz (Hixxy mix)
and
"Floorfillers" got Clear Vu - I Adore (Breeze & Styles mix)
???

i mean, the Clear Vu think is sorta ok because we already got it on Bonkers 12, but why didnt we get the Hixxy mix of heartbeatz? it's a hardcore-produced track remixed by a hardcore DJ for god's sake... and Clubland got it!

Winds me up a treat also. especially flip and fill remoulding the hardcore tunes into dance . Some tunes are remixed by..say flip&fill but instead of the album printing the REAL artists name followed by the tune (breeze&styles-your shining for e.g.) they print Flip&Fill- your shining as if THEY created the song!!! it should be printed Breeze&Styles-your shining(Flip&fill rmx).

above song is an example only

I'm hardcore till I die. And er, say no to drugs and.....strangers!?

Cover and remix are diffrent things. The Flip & Fill tunes that are covers from Hardcore tunes, are produced by Flip & Fill, But are written by someone else. So the person that wrote the Hardcore tune, gets money when the Flip & Fill tune is played coz they are credited on the singles.

But when Hardcore producers make a cover e.g. Brisk & Brown "Back & Forth" written by Scott Brown & Brisk, yeah right... Hardcore producers dont even give credit to the original artist. Witch makes them worst then Flip & Fill in this matter.

If pac-man really had an effect on us, we'd all be runnin' round in dark rooms, listening to repetitive music and munching pills!!!

Or is trance becoming more like hardcore?

Have you look at the production techniques employed by hard trance/hardstyle producers. C'mon they want to be hardcore but they just can't add that extra 10 or so bpm.

Listen to old-skool hardcore and you'll see that it sounds like nu skool hardtrance/hardstyle/hard house. Some of Scott Brown's tracks have been put on a hard house CD for goodness sakes!

I will agreee that hardcore uses a lot of trance elements - the big synths, the filter faffing around, thats how electronic music is kinda headed, the big, the hard and the ugly (Oli G )

i think i could sit here and write an essay on this, insted im going to write what i feel it boils down to

Trance is Trance - what is on Clubland CDs really isnt trance, its churned out dance music. pish posh - the 2Unlimited's/Capella's of the year 2002+

Hardcore has different sub genres but no one moans about the jumps people take within them. Not so long ago Hardcore was on its death bed, only by evolving to suit allowing it to come back, this evolution led it to more deep and trancey synth sounds rather than cheesy bleeps and squeaky lyrics, so its not surprising that hard trance/house compilations might get a few of the tracks, the genres are closer together now than ever before.

If breeze & styles get their tracks on a commercial compilation it would prob mean that they get more money, fair play to them, it might mean that they have more resources to produce newer hardcore tracks. I know that some have 'defected' to hard trance/house (Billy Bunter and Slipmatt), but a couple of losses is better than the whole genre getting stagnent and kiling itself. Not so long ago every Hardcore CD I bought I already had over 50% of the tracks on a different CD! (Eyeopener and Shooting Star anyone?)

Then they had the cheek to relabel their compilations into Megapacks, what a rip off, I already had all the CDs in these new compilations, (This was the point I thought to myself 'Is Hardcore Dead?', hopefully thats history never to be repeated.

Be thankfull for the fresh tunes that are coming out thick and fast, the loss of one or two aint such a big deal...is it????

Agreed. It is annoying that people believe that Hardcore is "Trance", because it isnt trance at all.
