Plus its you, this discussion has been brought up several times

first of all, ****ing fairplay to the artists for making some money, hardcore brings you **** all money wise, but takes up the time of a full time job! so they deserve something more

second, if you dont like it, dont listen, and if it makes you not like the original after, your an idiot

Thankyoucomeagain

Tottaly agree Oli, and since Your Shinning (which i assume tiddy7210 is bitchin about) is coming out under thier own name it is giving hardcore even greater exposure. Good thing i think so.

Giving Hardcore even greater exposure, yeah it's good for the scene but can annoy some of the people apart of it. Becoming mainstream isn't always good. Cause soon you get these people that pop out of no where that say they're the true hardcore lovers, that have been there since the beginning...It was/is the same with the punk FAD that all started with Avril Lavigne. After her first song was released, all you saw were these teens wearing ties and shirts that read "100% PUNK" or whatever. *rolls eyes* poseur!!
Nah, all I'm saying is that I don't want hardcore to be some sort of fad.
Giving Harcore even greater exposure, has it's pros and cons.

The charts are not for music people, they are for general people that don't listen to music everyday - so it is simple tap your feet music.

Anyone remember the terrible version of Technoheads 'I Wannabe a Hippie' release in the charts in 96? I thought it might be good to have a Hardcore song in the charts until I heard the version they played, slowed down lots and with cut lyrics so as to encourage drug usage. blah blah, what pants :(

i dont mind slowed down pissy crap cos i dont have to listen to it. . but what i DONT WANT is people that here the shity slow commercial version and come into the scene and dont like the faster less commercial stuff. . because when too many of them come in the music will become the f***in slow stuff and then we have no hardcore left...
:) at least freeform isnt in much danger of being commercialised

what happened to the sounds of the late 90s? surely you cant just speed up trance and call it the new improved hardcore! :P

The version that is on the music video, is the same as the version in all cd's. Donno if they had a diffrent version in uk.

The remix of I wanna be a hippie that was released as a chart tune in the UK (and got within top ten if I remember) was so much slower than the original, and the lyrics didnt have the 'Mari-Marijuana' chorus line in it coz it was glorifying drugs , it was terrible. It was certainly nothing like the original technohead version.
