Hey this is my first track, written in Reason.
http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/rossstan/mp3s/choon.mp3

What can I do to get better at producing?
How can I stop the "cracktro/intro tune" sound of the Amiga 500 days?

Cheers guys

Very Good!! Keep the good work coming.

I would agree that it does have an amiga chip tune style in it, the prob is what to do about it.

IMHO I think that you should swap the chip synth sounds for proper sampled sounds, the style would be dependent on what style of hardcore tune you were going for, it sounds like your trying to make a bouncy happy hardcore tune, I would listen to songs between 94-98 of similar style (Vinylgroover, Dougal, Sy, Hixxy) to see what type of synths they use for the lead and bass and focus on getting them (there are plenty of places on the web to dld samples), and maybe a break beat sample as well. I think the melody and overall layout of the track is really good and would do very well with a couple of hardcore style samples, in my experience, getiing the right samples to fit the tune and fit together is a long and laborious process. (Vocals on the other hand are an entirely different game, and not a very nice one at that LOL)

Others might disagree, but like I said it is IMHO
