it's mostly s2000's we use but we got 2 s3000's,they're good for drums etc,for strings and all that we use the korg x5 synth module, where the 3000's are we got korg nx5r's,some of the tunes you can knock out with those is unbelievable, even made a banging old skool tune with a drum and bass loop from the sampler

i'm using the Yamaha A3000 rite now, with expansion board it's a pretty decent price for what it has. Good warmth to the sounds, a good stack of filter combinations. The main problem i have with it is that it starts chokin' with too much midi data :/

Would love to get and Emu 6400 tho ... =)

I used to use software, one of the better softsamplers ive used was the sampler modules in Orion Pro. Soundfont cmaptible, multiple filters and a million vst fx.. but latency was a big problem, i could only have 1 going at a time while recording live with the external gear.
So in response, i jsut got my dirty lil hands on a second hand A3000mkII with 128 mb ram, sourcing a HD for it as i write this and still tryin to figure out how to use the bloody thing!!!
hehehe
Got some nice sounds out of it already thou!!
Its a bit like a sampling synthesiser...
and its detuning kicks ass!!

Those pictures are Pulsar II and the Power Pulsar, I only have the older Pulsar 1. They rock if you have an extreamly powerful computer, but you can have an entire studio inside your computer, saves alot of space.

Cost about $1000 US direct from Germany, you can download alot of the syths and it uses the DSP's on the board so you can load alot of stuff, kind of like reason but way better. The software mixer build in will blow your mind :)
